Outdoor decor: our tips for dressing up your terrace
The terrace is considered today as a room of the house. We like to spend time there enjoying the sun and the ambient softness. The exteriors are treated today with the same sin as the interior, the choice of the ground is very important and the wooden terraces win the votes. Light or darker wood, they are elegant and warm as you will see on the photos that we have selected for you. Discover our advice, trends and good ideas for fitting out.
Friendly, aesthetic, warm… The wooden terrace has a bright future ahead of it. It adapts to all exterior styles thanks to the different types of wood and the widths of the slats. The main thing is that they are treated if necessary. The exotic wood terrace is naturally rot-proof and unalterable, it is a choice that can be judicious. More natural wood such as pine must benefit from a special treatment before being installed. Be careful though: it requires a little maintenance since it must be oiled with a protective oil so as not to turn gray.
To avoid maintenance that would bother you, you still have the option of adopting composite, which is a material that imitates wood to the point of being mistaken for it and which is also not slippery at all. This is a perfectly feasible option to obtain that warm finish that you want to give to your terrace.
You have to be very careful with the wood, which must be class IV to withstand the hazards of water in particular. It is also resistant to fungi and insects. Other woods can be used provided that they are well treated, and it is also preferable that the terrace is properly ventilated. If your terrace is by the sea, class V wood is recommended, because it will resist better over time. The least expensive wood for a terrace is autoclave pine, which is distinguished by its slightly greenish tint. It has been treated and is rot-proof. It is durable since its lifespan is estimated at fifteen years.
How to create a relaxation space?
For a small space, such as a balcony or a terrace in a part of the garden, we treat ourselves with a relaxation corner. Low chairs, a small table close to the ground, or even a hammock will allow you to combine comfort and conviviality. Arrange this zen corner in the middle of the vegetation to create a soothing environment.
